Getting there

The National Dedication and Civic Memorial Service at the Canterbury Earthquake National Memorial is expected to attract large crowds. Road closures will be in place for the streets immediately surrounding the memorial from 10am - 2.30pm this Wednesday. These are Montreal Street, Cambridge Terrace and Oxford Terrace.

During the road closures expect delays around the Hospital Precinct, Tuam Street, Moorhouse Avenue and Madras Street. Allow plenty of time to get there and plan to be early. Consider walking, cycling or taking the bus. If driving, park remotely and walk to the event.

There are two public areas for the service, the largest area will extend between Montreal Street and the Antigua Boatsheds on Cambridge Terrace with standing area on Oxford Terrace behind the memorial wall.

Visit www.metroinfo.co.nz for bus services from your area. Transport for Christchurch will provide real time transport information on the day, keep updated at www.tfc.govt.nz.
